We Love SVG

We Love SVG is like Google Fonts but for icons. It allows you to easily insert icons into web pages and contains 9,769 icons from 30 popular icon packs.

The story behind this project is really interesting: “The idea of We Love SVG came from our developers. They were developing stuff just for pleasure, and then our team started to think how to make these projects useful for designers and developers. That’s how we came up creating something like Google Fonts, but for icons. So, it was a combination of usual work and brainstorming.” Uliana Tikhova, Icons8

How to use it

1. Insert this code into the header of your web page:

AngularJS version

<script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.rawgit.com/icons8/bower-webicon/v0.10.7/angular-webicon.min.js"></script>

jQuery version

<script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.rawgit.com/icons8/bower-webicon/v0.10.7/jquery-webicon.min.js"></script>

2. Search for an icon, copy the code and insert into your HTML

Technology

We Love SVG is based on Webicon – an open source library that allows embedding icons from any icon library. We at Icons8 believe that it’s the best way of embedding icons into HTML page. It’s like inserting icons with an icon font, but much better and faster.

Also, instead of fonts, we use SVG sets format. They have lots of advantages. You may trust our opinion 🙂 or check out this article by CSS Tricks for a detailed explanation.

Compatibility

Works with any icon library, such as Font Awesome, Material Icons by Google, Bootstrap, and Icons8. All major libraries are hosted on a free CDN.

Supports the syntax of AngularJS and jQuery.

Licensing

All fonts are open source. Use them for free in every way you want, privately or commercially. At the same time, we attached a license for every collection on Github.
