Landing on a broken or nonexistent URL is not a good user experience. Most of them will instantly chase you away. But, a good-looking, attractive, creative 404 page will probably guide you further and make you stay on that website. We’ve seen lots of lists with unique 404 pages, published by well known design sites.
Instead of creating another list of beautiful 404 pages, we’ve investigated the error pages of the most popular design sites (more than 100). Let’s see if reputable websites care about their 404 pages and how do they look.

Conclusion: it turns out that most of popular websites related to design don’t quite care about their 404 pages and implement some generic pages with poor content and some ads. It’s not a big deal (however it’s nice to see that every little aspect of a site is considered), as the true value of these sites is the content or resources they provide.
