Is Sketch really better than Photoshop?
Sketch was probably one of the most discussed application in web design community over the last months. What is Sketch? It’s a light, fast, easy to use and flexible Mac application for professional designers (finally, Mac users have an exclusive application for design). The idea behind this app is simple:
Finally you can focus on what you do best: Design.
It became a real alternative to Photoshop, that has been dominating the industry for more than 20 years. Some of web designers have already switched to Sketch and never returned to Photoshop
Lately, Sketch generated a lot of buzz and initiated an ongoing debate: is it really better than Photoshop? Here is a nice infographic that answers a lot of questions, the winner is quite obvious:
The bottom line
Sketch can’t fully replace Photoshop, but it’s a great app for web designers, UI/UX designers, icon designers (you can even use it for responsive web design). It’s not an ideal app and has some bugs, but it’s constantly updated and is a promising challenger (great job for a team of only 10 enthusiasts).
